JAPAN!!! and tattoo planning...

I'M GOING TO JAPAN!! DAMN STRAIGHT, I AM FINALLY FINALLY GOING TO JAPAN! WOO!
right, now that we've got that over and done with....
so yeah, im going to japan! i've got a degree to finish off first (oh god, my dissertation is killing me, and ive got an exam next week too...), but after thats done it's me off to japan! my wonderous wonderous friend alice ([link]) is going to go with me if all things go to plan - we'll do the fun holiday thing sometime in august hopefully! that is also part of a larger cunning plan of mine to go there for a good long period of time and work out there... but more on that story later!
on a side note, a friend of mine has asked me to maybe design a tattoo for him. i'm kind of honoured, but if i think about it too much also a bit worried... god, poor guy, what if i can't come up with something he likes? or worse, what if we figure out a design, but then once he gets it done he hates it?! gah, the pressure!! so many ways this can go wrong... and i really like this guy! i can't ruin his first tattoo!! i've been working on trying to figure out a tattoo for myself for years now (my hand tends to have a different design every day these days...), but im cursed with an insanely indecisive nature... well, lets hope i can come up with something. the best plan really is to just draw on him for a while, though the downside is if we come up with a design he likes, id then have to transfer it onto paper so it can be copied, which is always more of a challenge than you'd think...

I know what you mean about the pressures of creating something for someone else--it's so nerve wracking! Especially when it's something like a tattoo design. I've been asked a time or two, but I turned them down because I was to nervous =3=;;;;;;;;;. Right now I'm working on a T-shirt design for a local band and I'm paranoooooid--I don't think I could handle designing something that'd be on someone's skin for forever .____.;;;.
BUT ANYWAY. I'm rambling. That's great that you get to go to Japan--and best of luck with the tattoo design~

ah, nice to know other people understand the stress! it seems like such a simple nice little thing 'suure, i'd love to design a tattoo for you!', but then you start thinking, and remember just how permanent and important something like that is.... ah, i'm sure it'll work out in the end!

ooh, tshirt designs... i want to see! i'd love to design (and actually get made) some clothes... though i think i already have too many clothes as it is

Tattoo design is stressful hon - but it can be fun!! Just make sure he follows the golden rule - once he decides he loves a design, he should put it up on his wall, or somewhere he will see it every day - for at least six months.
That way, if he gets bored or annoyed with it, it won't be on his skin!

That's how I chose my design - I kept it around for a year or more!

Wow... thats a really good idea that somehow i hadn't ever thought of! i wonder why not, it seems like such a sensible idea. well, thats as good a reason as any, i suppose - i do seem to have a strange allergy to sense!

hows things - work still killing uber style? last exam tomorroooooww!!! god, i can't wait to be free... truly free.... and i'll get on the japanese learning as soon as im free too, so don't worry about that! heading to london on thursday shopping for my leavers ball - im thinking of being themed - want to find a decent blue dress, then if i do i'll dye my hair blue for the night too. should be back in cambridge not this weekend coming but the weekend after that, so we'll need to start buying things then i guess...

Work is killing UBER style - hours got reduced again - arg - basically they "can't afford to have me not taking breaks as that 1/2 hour costs them too much)

I reckon you should totally go for blue hair - mine is now really dark brown with reddy highlights - still getting used to et

My next paycheck is the 20th of June, so I vote we buy flights around then!
