heh - i really love this picture (uber-detailed though it is!), and it was actually the first piece i did for this competition (set by )
i should point out that vincent is chained to the book on his lap (this is the pic that i took the heart/chain idea used also in entry #2 ^^), and that is Dinah shown in the mirror (which is in a fish tank) - i figure vincent's looking at her! ^^ that was meant to be an Edaniel figure in the snow globe on the pile of books, but i forgot to ink it, so refer back to the original pencil to see that!!
i'm resubmitting it inked now because i managed to get it inked in time for the end of the competition! i really love it, and while im pretty sure the detail is waaay too much for it have much chance in the competition (which is, of course, for a book cover), i still wanted to give it a chance! ^^ im happy with it, at least, and i hope it's ok! *bows*
oh, and in terms of the theme of 'blue' i imagined you could always do vincent in proper colours, and then have a kinda blue 'film' over the background, so it was all in shades of blue! just an idea!! also, sorry about the step-ladder - i wanted it more ornate, but i suck at it, so its not so good! gomen!
